MEET THE FAMILY

Brendan, Erin, Ari, Adeline, Emmett & our amazing dogs!

Our dogs are our passion. They are a part of our family and the center of our lives. Our goal is to breed the best dogs possible to bring loving forever family pets to local families.

My love of dogs started as a young child. When I was 8, my mother began breeding papillons. Throughout my childhood and adult life, I have done dog 4-H, obedience training, AKC showing, and have been surrounded by animals. About 8 years ago in a dog training class with my papillon, Georgia, I fell in LOVE with a Labradoodle who was incredibly intelligent, outgoing, and obviously super cute. We were intrigued by the breed and began our research. After much consideration and thought, my husband and I decided to use our knowledge, passion and experience to begin Granite State Labradoodles. Since then we have been working to develop our program into the best around and our goal is to breed the best tempered, healthiest Labradoodle puppies.

We thoroughly enjoy spending our time with our pups and dogs. My husband Brendan is also a dog lover and throughout our relationship and marriage has been fully enveloped and involved in training, breeding, and raising pups. Brendan is a certified dog groomer whose talent and knowledge in the classic Australian Labradoodle look is clear in all of our dogs meticulous coats and cuts. Together we have the awesome joy of sharing our love of dogs with our immediate family and the extended Granite State Labradoodle puppy family. We remain in contact with most of our puppy families. We thoroughly enjoy being able to provide healthy, well loved puppies amazing homes. Who could ask for anything better?

Our puppies are born in a whelping box next to our bed. The next 2 weeks are spent quietly with their mom, nursing and growing. Once their eyes open around 2 weeks of age, the fun and socialization begins. Socialization is such an important part of a well rounded, even tempered puppy. We spend extensive time socializing our pups to expose them to real life sounds and daily household activities. Our children play a huge role in our program and our puppies come pre-exposed to the love (and craziness) of children.

We are available for a lifetime of support for our puppies and include a 2 year health guarantee. When coming home, they will have seen the vet for their health certificate and well puppy check. They also include 30 days pet health insurance through Trupanion, a microchip, a customized puppy information packet with a wealth of training resources and recommendations, a puppy blanket that smells of mom and siblings, a puppy bow tie, a toy, their first Distemper/Parvo/Adenovirus/Parainfluenza vaccine, a Lupine leash and collar, and a Granite State Labradoodle Bag.

RAISING PUPS IS OUR PASSION

Here at Granite State Labradoodles, we strive to raise the best pups we possibly can. It is our life and our family passion and we do this as a team. Your puppies are our priority and round the clock care is provided to them.

An important part of our early socialization process here includes the use of early neurological stimulation (ENS). We have found that working with pups from days 3-16 using this method greatly helps with their development and helps to create a more even tempered well socialized pup. Dr. Battaglia and the US Military have done extensive research into raising and breeding better dogs. Early Neurological Stimulation exercises have been found to benefit puppies in multiple ways including improved cardiovascular health, stronger heart beats and adrenal glands, improvements in the immune system and disease resistance, and improved ability to cope with stress. Research has found that the stimulation exercises of ENS help connect the neurons in their quickly developing brains even before their eyes or ears are open. (Please see http://www.breedingbetterdogs.com/article/early-neurological-stimulation for further research and information on the exercises).

From day 16 until 8 weeks old, when they go to their fur-ever families, our pups receive important stimulation and socialization experiences. We ensure that our pups are exposed to the craziness of day to day life in a family. Things like sweeping, music, the sounds of children playing, babies crying , the smells and sounds of food cooking, grooming (nails clipping, ears/tails/teeth, all over the puppy touched), toys, balls, and all of the amusement that goes with trips outside. They are exposed to various textures, surfaces (grass, pavement, rocks, dirt, snow, rain), temperatures, water, and crates. Where our pups are raised in our home, they get lots of time with our daughters. Our girls make sure the puppies get plenty of cuddles and exposure to the motions, and fun of children. This is really helpful when bringing the pups home with your children.

Our pups all receive lots of positive reinforcement for good behaviors and exploration. We try to engrain in the puppies the overall picture that the world and people are GREAT.

In summary, It is VITAL for puppies to have a stimulating and enriching environment. It is our purpose to provide this for their first 8 weeks. It is your job to continue this enrichment process and to provide ongoing positive socialization and reinforcement opportunities at home and in puppy school. We STRONGLY encourage all of our puppy families to start puppy school right after their second set of vaccinations around 12 weeks old.

OUR COMMITMENT
